To say there was a lot of anticipation of the new Coldplay record in 2005 would be something of an understatement. They’d been playing shows with the new material for some time, but none of it was officially out in the world yet. The choice of who to give the very first exclusive play of the first single to was obvious – it should be the man who they sent their first ever EP to all those years ago (and who, it appears never listened to it!).
